OHANE YEAR 2 TRIP TO STEAM ED – Tuesday 23 June 2026 TERM 2 WEEK 10

We are excited to be taking our Ohane year 2 classes on a trip to STEAM Ed. We will travel by bus and, upon arrival, students will be split into two groups. Each group will take part in a class lesson run by Steam Ed staff and will include a warm up of different play-based ways to make a push / pull with things that have varied mass (different sized magnets, air pressure, gravity on a slope, water pressure) and then culminates in students making a hydraulic machine of some kind.

Due to the high number of students the trip will be split into two groups- the first group will leave at 9:00 am and return at 11:00 am. The second group will leave at 11:30 am and return to school by 1:30 pm

This trip links directly to our Science learning, where we are exploring the Physical World – Forces and Materials. We have been learning all about the forces of push and pull, magnets and materials in the real world.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
PAYMENT:
We are no longer able to accept direct payments to the School Bank Account for ‘user pays’ activities. All ‘user pays’ activities for 2026 are loaded onto the School Website Online Shop under ‘ACTIVITIES’. Note that if payment is made into the School bank account it will be refunded to you and payment will need to be made correctly through the school website online shop. This form and payment must be completed by FRIDAY 19TH JUNE 2026. No late registrations will be accepted. Once you have confirmed registration, we are unable to offer refunds as confirmation will be provided to the Service providers.

Leaving School at: 9:00 am and the second group will leave at 11:30 am.
Returning to School: 11:00 am first group and by 1:30 pm the second group.
Transport: Children will be transported by bus from and back to school
Cost: $25 per student

We will continue to send general reminders through Hero notices but please note that you can only confirm permission, register, and pay using this online form on the School Website. Parents will receive a confirmation email once registration is complete online so keep this email to ensure you do not make double payments when you get general reminders. If you prefer to be able to view history of website orders, registrations and payments you will need to create an account first on the school website and then login before placing your orders and registrations for activities.
This is an optional trip and if we do not receive a registration and payment from you, we will assume that you do not wish for your child to attend this event and they will remain at school for the day.
