International
Welcome
At Taumata School, we proudly welcome international students from around the world and warmly invite them to become part of our vibrant and inclusive learning community.
We honour, respect and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that international students and their families bring to our school. These global perspectives deepen our understanding and strengthen our commitment to developing curious, connected, and compassionate learners.
Nestled in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, our school offers a unique blend of innovative, future-focused learning alongside the warmth and safety of a close-knit, community-driven environment. Surrounded by beaches, native bush, and open green spaces, students enjoy a truly New Zealand experience; where learning happens both inside and outside the classroom.
International students quickly become an integral part of school life. From day one, they are placed in mainstream classes with students of similar age and are encouraged to fully participate in our local curriculum, school-wide events, trips, and extracurricular activities. This approach encourages lifelong friendships, cultural exchange, and a genuine connection to the ‘kiwi’ way of life.
At Taumata School, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality teaching, strong pastoral care, and a tailored English language support programme that ensures every international student is seen, supported, and set up for success.
Whether joining us for a short-term experience or a longer educational journey, your child will discover a place where learning is an adventure, creativity is nurtured, and relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
Taumata School is a proud signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 and accepts fee-paying international students for both short and long-term enrolments.

ESOL Support
We proudly welcome International students.
Over 17% of our learners receive daily English language support from four experienced ESOL tutors. Lessons focus on language skills, confidence, and cultural understanding, helping students succeed in English-speaking classrooms and settle comfortably in our school community.
